Nice find, lets hope that he gets what it is worth! our goverment valuers tend not to go off open market but what they think the museums can afford, just watched a programme called Time team codename ainsbrook where two night hawkers decided to turn good after finding lots of viking, they said they could get ?40,000 for the items without going through the legal system.... the legal system gave them ?5,000
if this is right theres something wrong somewhere and the goverment may be encouraging night hawkers

that's awesome! wish I could detect over there! I hope their treasure laws compensate this guy fairly or else stories like this won't turn up in the news and history will be lost forever.
