The beep that made me leap: Housewife discovers ?250,000 gold treasure after seven years of hunting with a metal detector

The find is thought to be part of a high-quality reliquary or pendant, and depicts the Holy Trinity.

For 500 years, the treasure had lain buried four inches below the ground, despite repeated ploughing.

Picture.

What a find! Hopefully a museum will be able to acquire it. Won't do any of us any good sitting in someones safe deposit box somewhere. On the flip side of that it would still be in the ground if she didn't find it.

Sue;
THAT is truly impressive... I had to download it as a PDF so I can show it to others.

Thanks for the tip.

Brian AKA goldigger (oops, I missed it!)

No dinking around with this detecting find. The 15th century gold pendant is going to be auctioned off at Sothebys in just over a week. HUGE picture.
