Interesting article....can't say the concept itself is new.   I, for one, always dream of being around when they do maintenance work on the boardwalks of ghost towns.   And even 40 years ago, there were a couple of back doors to shops in Idar Oberstein, Germany that were worth checking out when visiting the town.

Speaking of boardwalks, when I was a kid we used to sift the sand under them and find hundreds of lost coins. Had more fun there than in the water.
