Treasure hunter finds gold nugget near Westward Ho!

A WETSUIT-clad treasure hunter has literally struck gold on a beach near Westward Ho! Merlin Cadogan, 40, from Northam uncovered a gold nugget buried deep beneath the sand at South Gut last Monday.

i hope he reported it to the coroner and the pas, the official position on gold and electrum nuggets is quote" since its very likley this is not a natural deposit it is by definition "lost" and therefore subject to treasure trove laws".
i know what the reaction will be to that by some detectorists here, but its a fact, at the very least it should be isotope tested to discover its true origins.
it may well be welsh or cornish gold but i doubt it, my guess its off one of those nugget on a chain necklaces at a guess.
just because its off a beach its not "fair game", the rules of the game still apply.
