Treasure hunter Odyssey wants U.S. out of its legal case


Sunken treasure-hunting company Odyssey Marine of Tampa on Wednesday formally asked a federal court to kick the United States out of a legal dispute Odyssey is having with Spain over a half billion dollars in silver and gold that Odyssey found on the ocean floor in 2007.

Just a rational observation here...the Odyssey driven media hype/blitz simply fails to connect any wrong-doing via the "WikiLeak" hoopla.

There is zero evidence....allow me to repeat myself here....zero evidence that protocol was broken or anything actually happened. From day one, Odyssey has been riding the media wave with hyped-up "press releases" in an effort to gain public sympathy. This "press release" is a fine example of how nothing was released by "WikiLink" that might bolster Odyssey's case...but, allows for  more "pity me" drama.

Well, the appellate court seems to think there may be more to this than just hype.

01/14/2011 ORDER: On January 4, 2011, Appellant Odyssey Marine Exploration,
In., filed a motion to strike the brief of the United States as Amicus Curiae.
Upon consideration of those matters contained in Appellant's motion and for good
cause shown, the United States is ordered to show cause, if any there be, on or
before Friday, January 21, 2011, why said motion should not be granted...ENTERED
FOR THE COURT- BY DIRECTION...Motion filed by Attorney Carl R. Nelson for
Appellant Odyssey Marine Exploration, Inc.. [6211828-2] in 10-10269 JFD
[10-10269, 10-10317, 10-10318, 10-10319, 10-10320, 10-10374, 10-10375]

P.S. And Odyssey issued only ONE press release concerning this subject.

Odyssey has filed a motion to strike. woopty-do

I'd much rather see a peer-review, or something in a scholarly journal pointing to the EXACT breech of protocol. As of this date....there is nothing. Just Odyssey whining about how the United States done them wrong...according to the WikiLeak cable.

Too much drama.

Basically the same thing yahoo said the US in with Spain - one of them u scratch my back and i will scratch ur back things and in the process Odyssey gets screwed .
