This should be a lesson to anyone involved in treasure hunting.Do you do flaunt your good fortune to the world? Do you do the right thing and try to do all the archeology on a site,pay your taxes,etc.Or do you keep your mouth shut like KVM suggest in many of his books so that anyone and everyone doesn't try to make a claim on your hard work,research and hard earned time and money in prusute of that which you seek and or find?
I'm in favor of the Odyssey to keep the treasure.
I think that they try to preserve history will still trying to make an honest profit and pay a lot of taxes when it's all said and done.
If Spain was that worried about it,they would have found it by now.
If treasure hunters are faced with loosing their treasure after it is found because of a lot of bureaucratic BS,
than chances are few discoveries in the future will ever be made public and history will be lost to private collections and scrapers.
I haven't seen Treasure Quest on TV since this mess started.And regardless of the outcome of who gets the treasure,I would bet if Odyssey is still around that they will only be showing us stuff they found that can't be taken away and that covers their expenses?
