Well, homefire, with all the ways they have to track people now, (such as cell phones, tv's, computers, gps systems, satelites, etc) I just don't believe you could hide a find that large. Anyone who was ever known to have hunted for treasure ships and had the capability to bring one up would be tracked automatically. And could you imagine what punishment there would be for "stealing" over a million in gold?

How about Finding and Keeping?  LOL

Governments steal amounts more then that every year.

That would piss me off so bad and make me do something I would regret. At the very least they should have been reimbursed for their costs preserving the treasure, along with the time and effort they put into recovering the treasure. I am so glad I did not find it. But if you look at the bright side, they got some great publicity and will probably be hired because of it. I dont know if it worth finding and losing a treasure though. Man I would be so pissed.

It sure has to be a hard game to give it all away. If you read the diatribe between the 2 parties involved, + the other people in Spains system, it is noticable that both groups were not making quick and positive answers to all the questions going both ways. There was just too much time between answers, even by Odyssey. It all seems a little underhanded by both groups. It is what it is and it is at least, settled.

in a couple of those contracts have been set so I don't think anybody at OME
is going to go hungry for quite a while.

JC...Everything I have heard from Mr. Stemm has been straight forward and
to the point, they came, they found, they retrieved and then through chicanery
had it stolen it from them.  The Spanish engaged in negotiations with the
nefarious intent, not quite closing the deal, of getting all of the booty without
paying a finders fee, very underhanded in my view.  I would hope they go
after a finders fee in the international court.

Those treasure hunters should have just kept there mouth shut.  Spain has plenty of gold.  Just goes to show you pay your taxes and your own government and courts don't stand by you.  I wonder what would have happend if the situation was reversed?

I'm bett'n, with the track record of this administration, that they wouldn't even
try thinking that we stole it from someone so we don't deserve it.  These US of A
haters are really piss'n me off, If I had a good prospect of winning the election
I'd be keep'n a list of these twinks and one way or another give them a real
reason to hate the country like prosecution for sedition or maybe treason.
