Go Up Go Down

I really need to dig out the old book I have on the Nehalem wreck, it's packed away still from the last time I moved.

I think I'm going to take a trip that way later this year. I want to see if I can relocate the marker I found at Cannon Beach and get some pictures.

And get some squeaky cheese!

There used to be a cheese factory in my town where you could buy 20lb bags of em. I grew up eating that stuff. Sadly they no longer make it. The Tillamook cheese factory is very good and they have quite a variety of goodies, just the packages are much smaller and more expensive these days. Especially since it's a 500 mile journey one way  Grin Good thing I have family that direction.....

Yeah it use to be much less expensive when they just called it cheese curd  Grin

Anyway Idaho I would love to know more about that wreck and the marker you mentioned, gonna try and head out there myself later this summer.  Any info you have to share please pass it along maybe even the name of the book once you dig it out.

Heck you will more than likely drive by my town on the way to the coast.

On page three of this thread at the bottom of my post is a picture with the location near Haystack Rock where I remember finding the marker. I can still picture it, kind of a tan stone. I thought it was wood at first till I tried to move it but it was stuck fast between the rocks. The tide must be at extreme negative or it is under water.

I find this Goonie treasure tale to be a good one, The wax seems like a good indicator of something else waiting to be found. Treasure markersare an added bonus, as with the good old cheese  Cool

Cool Idaho I will look for the marker when we are down there.  We normally start at the north (Astoria or Seaside) and then work our way south on trips like this.  I'll make sure we hit Canon beach at the low tide times.  I will try and get photos as well.

Good hunting Rebel, hopefully you will be able to find it. Thinking of taking a drive that way sometime soon but I need to check the tide tables for dates.
