ok i have done some checking the sea level has only risen on average about 200 millimeters since 1870 so i dont think it will be under water

It's not so much the sea level rising; it is more about beach erosion or changes as homefire and stringybark suggested.   The topography of the beach or shoreline could have changed some over the years.   Good luck, though!

I've seen a single storm set a beach 300 yards!    It all just depends on the Beach make up.   Sand, Rock, Soil!

  Tropical cyclones, Ocean swells & sand dredging could affect the beach layout!

what do you think the best way to search the beach cause its a pretty big area, i was thinking of making one of those pvc tube home made metal detectors and just hang it off the back of my car and drive along the beach ?
