Don't forget that was over 60 years ago. Also the story was published in 1967. There have probably been a thousand others looking for this spring.

Thats a good one Heathen. Probably out near Ruby Meadows somewhere, that was a hotspot for nuggets from my sources. Pretty place to go a lookin. Also a box full of little brown jugs full of mercury buried somewhere on the meadow, they never could find the cache again.

I'm with you....just because people have been looking for 60 years doesn't mean it's been found and it also doesn't mean it's a fable......on the other hand, most people I know who'd be looking for it, wouldn't tell you they'd found it---but they might tell you not to bother looking for it

Very true BA on all counts. Anytime someone is adamant I'm wasting my time I wonder what they are hiding Smiley

Might be some aerial photos of that area around, BIFC or some geo surveys?

just stop and think if they wouln't have gone out of their way to help a man in need that story would have never been brought to life..and from the sounds of it they were probably standing right on the spot where that story happened.. wonder if that guy who wrote the story is alive??
