Miau, the best Google earth would do is help us narrow the search area down to a couple of different locations.  The more precise the description the fewer areas you will have to search.   Unfortunately one reason why there are so many lost mines is that a lot of hills and valleys look the same (especially if you haven't been there in a long time or you are trying to use someone else's description).   And then there is the problem that the records are written by people who have only seen the area from the ground or a higher mountain while Google Earth is based on satellite pictures.   Things looked a lot different from the ground, especially if you have your mind on something else like getting away from someone who may be chasing you.... Once we used Google earth and maps to figure out which areas best match the description,  then we would still need to go into each of those areas and actually search.

You can stop by on the way to Tillamook BA, we will go dig it up together. I'll even loan ya my shovel  Grin

Google Earth has a 3 meter pixel size if I recall, which translates to close to 15 feet. The link in Google Maps is Warren Meadows Idaho, there is a huge old gold dredge sitting on those tailings but you can't find it from Google Earth. At least I can't and I know where it is! Shocked

It's also just a bit down the road from Burgdorf.

Trust me, if I didn't have to go to work on Monday, I'd be on my way up there.
