Discovery Channel has been running this program on Fridays at 10 est. It started on Dec 3rd Its about 6 men, 2 who have sold most everything they owned and are father and son and 4 others that are their friends who have lost their jobs and some their homes or about too and 2 brought their sons 3 boys 9,10,11. They are working for free or until they make a big strike. Well they have rented a claim in Alaska that is said to have 15 million worth of gold still underground. Only the father has ever done any prospecting and not much. There has only been 2 shows so far and the next will be on Jan 7th. They drove there and sent the big gear on a barge from Seattle. Almost 2 weeks into the show and no mining yet but they are ready now. Between the bears and them not knowing what to do right it seems to be a good show so far. I hope they strike it rich. Also the father (the old man) has caught gold fever.   Enjoy the show.    I have so far.

I've seen both shows so far. I think the old geiser that is heading it up is a bit loco Crazy. They don't seem too well prepared. Although, in the second show they bring in their buddy, a contractor and mining pro........They got the shaker working! Have to wait to Jan.....    Oh well .... maybe can find some Swamp Loggers to watch while waiting  Smiley Smiley

Yeah the old man caught the gold bug. He was digging everywhere. Definitley unprepared. I liked the Travel Channels Cash and Treasures untill they took it off.

Not Trying to slam the show but there showing everything Tree people want to see.

Bungling Folks out with heavy equipment, jacking up the envoroment. LOL!

Being sorta Poor, I don't get Discovery but you can see clips on YouTube, or Descovery.com.

They sure made a big deal out of the bears, Eaaaa?  We have them here and you just don't leave food around to be had or they will have it.

New Mexico just upped the Bear Ticket by 500 or so.   Getting to be a problem up north.



I would love to be able to get up there like that.

My girls who are 7 and 9 , cant believe they don't know what there doing, that they never even went the site before renting the claim, and wondered why they didn't try every thing out in Oregon where they live and where we had prospected all summer before they went to Alaska. the girls got some good gold in Oregon.

If kids that young know what to do its sad they didn't think it through

Travel Channels Cash and Treasures - Wish they would bring this show back !!

As far as the gold digging show - i have a wait and see attitude -
So far their a bunch on bumbling men, that think there going to get rich,
I wish them all the luck in the world I really do , but if they doing get organized and soon and make a plan and stick to it ,
I don't see where they are going to get rich.

I do agree with Gregg they should have gone there first and checked out the claim etc. to not do so was foolish.
And to not test there equipment before they left was also foolish.

But then I guess that's part of the attraction of the show to see if they can make it past there mistakes and become Rich !!
