Now that I have you attention, I'm sure some of you have heard the rumours of the World War equipment buried, Cached and dumped in Australia at Wars end. We are compiling a book about the Myths, Stories, Rumours and Legions of the equipment left in Australia after the war. We are interested in hearing from anyone who has heard of these so they can be compiled and written into our book that we are currently working on. If you have been told, either first hand or second hand, of this activity please private message me so we can add it to our growing list. We are based in Queensland Australia and want to make this book available to those whom have an interest in "treasure Hunting". Alternatively you can email me at david@rhinocontainers.com.au.

Regards
davidm6244

P.S. And yes it is true, there is a rumour floating around about crated spitfires hidden inside an old mine tunnel system.

And just to add to the spitfires down a mine shaft, the Australian defence department only a few weeks ago engaged the services of a private company to try to locate them. They know they are there, they just don't have an exact location.

The Guy I know who claims to know the actual whereabouts, of two intact aircraft, is fairly reliable. he is dirt poor and has been most all of his life yet he owns two very nice low mileage WLA ( WW2 era ) Harley Davidson's as well, which when one enquires as to how much they cost, he changes the subject, if they dumped aircraft they wouldn't have thought twice about motorcycles. I have plied him with liquor on several occasions and the story about the planes never changes on bit. I believe him.
And not just because he is a mate, he refers to the right area even though his education level is to low, for him to be reading up on history, he knows the area like the back of his hand. and he is also in possesion of several American " comfort radio's " these are SW radios, that are quite large. About the size of a foot locker, they are painted khaki green, and each have little plaques on them stating which women's group, raised the money to purchase the radio and the name of the unit it was bought for. All american. I don't believe they are myths. Also there are and always have serious military presence in the area. His story is very plausible. I have already contacted the original poster of thi thread and once I see what he wants, I will contact my mate.

the story goes these were secrceted away after the war by some aircraft /airforce enthusiasts still in the crates { read brand new planes } , because they were slated for destruction like so many thousands of aircraft were after the war finished , if they are in a cave/mine and someone does know the location , like your mate Gozzo then some photo's would seal the deal as this being factual . cheers Mick [great]

I just find it wild that old mate has spoke of two spitfires, which I never thought came to Australia. and now I find out, there were and this company is within lets say the right sort of area. I have been in touch with the guy who made that original post and im no where as skeptical as I would normally be not after whats in his email.
