the scrap value of these could be a handsome reward

And as soon as you salvage them and get them out in the open the army will put a claim on them.

G'Day Gramps, looks like you and I are on the same wave lenth here,

A while ago they ( Tree Hugger's ) and some government types desided to kick up a stink about 4x4s, But me being the Independant minded type I desided that Truck was for me,

6x6 of unadulterated lack of respect, Oh yeah!

Anyway then I found out that If I bought a Mercedes UNIMOG that they were classed as a Agracultural type Tractor and that you pay cheaper road tax and you can run them on red Diesel and Red Diesel is about 60% cheaper than normal Diesel, Now according to UNIMOG's web site they can Haul/Tow about 100 tons of rollin stock ( Thats about 5000 Tree Huggers to you and me )

Now dont get me wrong here coz I love trees and so does my family ( My Big Chain Saw and My Little Chain Saw )  Grin Grin Grin Kiss Kiss

As for the Idea of an APC well that could work out fine too, Coz parking would'nt be a Problem and there'e not much chance of me gettin Towed, so I think you're on to something there, ( thanks for the Heads up on that one )

Ridge Runner they get all upset here about red deisel if you don't happen to own a farm. Course they have to catch you at it I suppose  Grin

Homefire my dad was in the Navy and talked about the same thing in WWII. They tossed crates of m1s, thompsons, ammo, planes and equipment overboard on the way home.  Sad

Hardluck, very nice pics. Makes one wonder what could be just underfoot...   Wink

Hopefully this story will get a conclusion or at least an update. Sounds very intriguing.   Smiley

Hey RR another reason for the APC is the color.  When up in the woods it would be harder for the drones to find you, you would just blend into the background.  That will be especially useful when the UN gets it's agenda 21 in place, at which time most all forests will be off limits to the great unwashed masses. Ah well couldn't afford the damn thing even if it was for sale and things are going to get worse
until somebody in congress gets stones enough to offer up a bill of impeachment and a commitment
order to send Biden to the rubber room.

Hardluck, Where was that bunker located? The vehicles all seem to have recent mud on their tyres. The bunker system itself looks very very interesting, would be a great place to explore. The walls could possibly tell many stories.

Just thought I'd let those whom are interested know what has been going on (I only realised today that it has been nearly a year since i posted something on here).
We are currently investigating a site where there is rumoured to be military equipment. We were told that the equipment at this location was placed there after the war as the people who did it did not want to see it destroyed. Upon further investigation, we have been told by another person (apparently his father was a security guard in the area when this occurred) that what is in there are aircraft fuselage and other items that were used in the trial atomic bomb detonations at Maralinga South Australia and that these items were heavily radioactive. Its funny (actually its not funny at all) that in the 80's a Mineral Spa bottling company in the area was shut down by the government as the water they were drawing from became radioactive, and there was a piggery in the area where the pigs were watered from a bore, all of the pigs died from radiation poisoning. Obviously that business was closed by the Government as well. And one other thing, apparently, the area near this site has a much higher rate of cancer in the human population than anywhere else in QLD. Needless to say i have bought a Geiger counter.

Hey RR I was looking at Google Earth today and in a couple of areas were some nifty looking basaltic rock formations only problem is that the logging roads into the area haven't been kept up and getting in would be problematic.  That's where that APC would be a handy thing to have, it could handle those unimproved roads with ease.  But alas there's that money thing rearing it's head again plus the fact that DMV probably wouldn't license it for road use.  Maybe I should keep my eyes open and an ear to the ground for a short wheelbase FWD, put some knarly meats on it and go from there.

Gramps those little Suzuki/GMCs are great with a lift kit and big feet, and the Hi Lux you only need tyres, heaps of clearance there, and they are both fairly reliable too  either that of get a jeep CJ5 or the ARMY old jeeps Hoychkis type

Its worth a try Gramps them old Jeeps are great machine if you keep them under 55 mph,
