If you win a gold coin have it verified before you leave the building.
The one I won at a GPAA seeded hunt was a "FAKE" it was nickle with gold plating.
A Maximillian "gold" uno peso. I still have it just to remind me of how gullible I can be.

WOW!  I'm surprised that GPAA would allow that.

Well, our GPAA Chapter isn't giving away any gold coins, not even a nugget.  So no worries there.  We are giving away a new Garrett Gold Stinger Metal Detector, 3 tier Gold Cube, assorted sluices and more prizes coming in.
