the documentary has been on  PBS the past few nights  i enjoy watching that show.love to hear the accents and the  vocabulary  of the people alive back then even some of the folks you would think would  be backwards or common  like me  have some of the most amazing vocabularies  and are well spoken  and use $5 words as i like to say . i wonder if because writing letters was the main means of communication  if this is why they were so well spoken and articulate in their word choices   or just tryin to be fancy  lol?

along with our new Colonial slang mixed in to really give meaning to the written & spoken word then.

Sadly, many today don't read as much as people then even 25 yrs ago and longer, which also helps to add to ones vocabulary and intellectual power in communication.

I wish I had practiced my script writing skills more when in the early years of elementary school, my script of writing is hard to call beautiful looking. (The PC keyboard & Electronic mail has really replaced that bedrock skill we all used much more frequently than today)

Thanks for the heads-up & surely will partake of catching that on the television, and I'll try to log onto ancestry.com

 Great
Jim
