Actually, if they don't own the property but they own the road and you have WRITTEN permission from the property owner to access the property they'll probably have to let you use the road since the property owner probably has right of way access to their property....worth verifying anyway.

Yes sir. I am looking at the county tax records right now to see what kind of information I can get. Looks like they do own several wells in that area, but have not found an actual map with the locations just yet.

Well, I have made more progress. I now have the appraisal district maps, as well as the land owners names. In talking to one of the historical society people, I have now found another location to look into, just South of the one we are trying to get to!   Huh?

Anyway, this one is the plantation of Ashbel Smith. He trained the Bayland guards during the Civil War at this location. So, more stuff to research and digest. I fear I may have opened a can of worms!    Shocked

good job on the research, it sounds like you are really knocking it out....by the time you're done you'll be able to give me some good pointers.  don't get discouraged, there are always loop holes and things to learn along the way.....good luck boss

Well it looks like this one will remain just talked about. The historical society is not willing to back me up or assist in too many ways other than verbal support, and with so many owners of the land involved, I am not going on a crusade all by myself.   Undecided    It is unfortunate, but there are plenty of other things to search for!

   Sorry that didn't go the way that we were all hoping.  But if you have the persistance to do as much research as you did for those sites, I know for a fact that you're going to get a great lead as well as the cooperation of the land owners inthe very near future.....keep up the good work, wish I were there to help you out.
