An old friend of mine if the President of the Pennsylvania "Bucktails" Regiment and he told he a story about when he was in his
days. He was able to
in GETTYSBURG on the battlefield. That gives you an idea of his age, he said he was near the Berdan sharpshooter's statue and he was
and he was near a pile of rocks and his MD was going crazy and he couldn't figure out and then all of a sudden he SAW it in the pile of rocks a 12 pound cannonball intact, sitting in the pile of rocks that no one ever noticed!
This same gentleman told me of a stump full of bullets and shells from Culps Hill he obtained from of course Gettysburg, he sold that for $$$$. By the way he also has, an original ticket from Ford's theatre on the night Lincoln was shot. The then mayor of Harrisburg, Pa bought one of those tickets to put in the National Civil war museum and paid $19,400!
