Went back to the park near where I found that flat button.
15 minutes later I find my first coin ever-1827 Large Cent!
It's gonna be hard to top that.

                 That coin is in terrific condition for the time it's been burried , most of the copper coins I find,  and none past 1912 are so beat-up their not worth cleaning.

the two items --- the flat button and coin are both of are round the 1820 ish time frame --- flat bottons when found are generally thought to tip off a 1820 ish era place  Wink --- learning to ID buttons and plate and crockery items and their time frames can be very useful to "dating" an areas useage
