I haven't really found any silver yet....though I guess the two old copper coins that I have found from the 1800s makes up for that.  I hope to find some silver in a baseball field this weekend.  It is a old one so I bet there is going to be something and a lot of trash too.  And, congrats on your find Tyler!!  Keep on beepin!! Thanks to all for looking at my silver finds, And to M_I, sports fields are good places to hunt, as long as you have enough patience to deal with the trash too Wink what kind of 1800's copper coins did you find?

Does it matter where you look around at, specifically? Like, out in the ball field and the ball diamond.  Or around the stands and the field.I got permission from the City Administrator, so if someone sees me out there digging I can tell them that.

My first 1800 copper was a 1856 Coronet Large cent found in one of my fields where a old building used to stand.  My second one was, I think, a 1867 Indian head penny I found in a ditch at the site of an old hotel.

M_I, the stands would probably be the best place, because that would most likely be where the biggest concentration of people would be, but it will also probably be where most of the trash items will be located too. What I would suggest, is to just to try different areas of the field & give each area a good honest search & see what you can come up with. I know that probably didnt help much, but that is how I would go about it. I WILL NOT sit here & tell you to dig through piles & piles of junk & only junk & not give up on it, because I can only handle so much of junk digging myself Funny The way I am, I dont mind digging trash as long as im finding good stuff too, if it is nonstop trash I am done! At least in that area anyway!!! Sorry for rambling,  Crazy if you have any other questions I would be happy to help if I can Waveing By the way, nice copper coin finds!

Alright, thanks for the information from your perspective.  I'll just do both and see how it turns out, once I do I'll post in Today's Finds.
