Good luck with those beaches!  When I talked to a BLM guy about metal detecting and gold panning on BLM lands, he couldn't tell me anything either!   Shocked

Well finally got back from out of state and headed to Loon lake, stopped by the office on the way in and talk to the gal if I could detect on the beach, with some well umm.... I guess... I finally got permission to detect. She told me there has been a few others come out and detect there but didn't really do much. So me and my AT Pro started way down the on the end and began, after four hours of detecting came up with a little over a dollar in clad, lots of bottle tops and a few pull tabs. The Nel coil on this machine is very sensitive, gonna take sometime to get used to it. The beach area started to get real crowded so I wrapped up and headed back to the house. Definitely will be heading back there again, just after all the vacationers get on out of there.

Way to go, ODF!  You did good at the lake!  You need to post this and the pictures on the "Finds" thread so more people can see it.  Good luck with future hunts.

So nice to see a bunch of Oregonians into Treasure Hunting in the Pacific NW.
Being from Washington state, I occasionally travel down to and through the lovely state of Oregon for work and pleasure.
I was just in Boardman Oregon, and forgot to pack my MD  Sad   Next time, for sure!
In fact, I met my Spousal Unit in Bend Oregon, the luckiest day of my life.
I really enjoy the Oregon beaches also. Especially Oceanside & Lincoln City.  Maybe if I am lucky I can get a few days to visit after the Kite festival.
Happy Hunting, Robroy59

Hi Randygold!  Welcome to the forum from La Grande!    Welcome  There is a good-sized detecting club in the Portland area.  Right at the moment I can't find their contact info, but I'll keep looking!    Great

Hi Randy,

My wife's family used to live in the Sweet Home area, but not any more.   So I can't help you there.   However, the next time you get down to Arizona, if you are in the Phoenix area look up the Arizona Treasures Unlimited club

Cheesy Hello all.. Well add another Oregonian to the mix. I am Casey and I live in Wood Village you know the little town by Gresham and Troutdale.
I am 41 married with 4 girls at home. I am a cook at the Moda Center AKA The Rose Garden. I have been metal detecting most of my life but took off sometime but now back in the game. I have a AT Pro and try to get out at least 2-3 a week to hunt. If anyone get out this way and needs some company hit me up.
