Yes Bernte_one, that is the trimmer we talk about "r30" and it is 100K, I use that to
adjust best amplification without chirps and clicks, but before that, I just replace
"R38" in TX osc with trimpot and adjust alternately TX amplitude and RX amplification.
Here are pictures of scheme and PCB. And another thing: TX coil is 0,5mm wire*45
and RX =0,25mm *145 on 25,5cm, just the one i use for MOLE-m = 8,4 Khz.
I hope that all of this is understandable (My English again).

did you try to fine adjust the caps on rx stage
i use 22nf instead of 47nf  direct right besides the rx connector is also a empty place for another cap
you could test to place some different caps there to get values between the values of the regular line

i hope you understand
i have posted my exact coil and condensator specs some sides before tx 330nf rx 22nf     i think your coil is good  maybe just some little better values at the caps can help you?

Yes Bernte_one,  I can understand You quite well, actually my problem is writing
because my Engilish lessons in school were finished many years ago.
At first I have to thank You an Xavier for very, very nice explanation of
this device and good will to share  Yours knowledge with us.
And then, I know about this free place for cap in RX because I read   carefully
every reply in this post, but ,for null the coil I use my little device: tx osc with place to
connect cap and coil and test points for frequency meter, then connectors for rx coil and cap
with little preamp and test points for sound card scope. Until now it works OK.
Actually, I will be thankful if You and other guys  look at this AGEB circuit and say Your  opinion.

The only 100k trimmer I saw  on his schematic was R38. Don't have an Admiral . Sounds like everyone is having problems.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Shocked why don't I have that on my board?  I'm in hospital at the moment but as soon as I'm back home I'm going to check on that. What is the purpose of that trimmer?

Hi Xavier
in this case (admiral-1, or admiral-final 0613), it is R30, but there are a
plenty of variations and they are all different, so it is not important do
You have it or not. Here is just an  example:
