It has been nye on to a year since anything was posted on this subject and Luc, others of us, still don't know what is wrong with his attempts at recreating this machine.  Do we have any info on what the problem was and what the fix was?  Do we a final foil pattern and parts layout?  Inquiring grey cells would like to know.

Y'all take care out there,
Dennis

Hi Gramps43

I'm like you, waiting to see if someone can give us information, pictures or diagrams to date with this detector Tesoro Lobo first generation (which gives excellent results on the ground). I have realized one for my part, but the characteristics are really poor. so if anyone of you can help us, we thank you in advance.

Kind regards

Luc

There is an issue of ethics when it comes to copying a commercial detector. It's one thing to learn about them by studying how they work but I refuse to deal with a purloined design. Sorry. Look to someone else for help on this one.

Please don't take it personal. The design belongs to Tesoro.

As it is an old and superseded design I can't see them pitching too much of a fit but then one never knows, do one.  I don't have any problem with your position on this, in this day and age with people sueing at the drop of hat or the spilling of a cup of coffee it's best play it safe.

Y'all have a good summer down there, we'er just cranking up our chilly season up here.

It's already hot but that's the norm down here. I generally hunt from 4:00am until mid morning when I go out swinging a coil just to avoid the deadly heat. The dog, in his lovely, fashionable fur coat, is more comfortable that way too.

Do note that I said it was a matter of ethics on copying the design, not legality. If Tesoro were to release it (you could always ask), then I would be giving it a once over before the ink dried. The person who posted that on Geotech even admitted it was reverse engineered. As the former CEO of an engineering firm in San Diego, I can tell you that I would never expose my company or my employees to that kind of moral dilemma. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I have another take on the matter.

If I spend say $500.00 on a machine, I own that machine.

I have the right to attempt repairs my self and the schematic is required.

If I have to Reverse engineer to obtain the schematic, I will do so.

If someone else needs that schematic, I would provide it.

They are not going to go commercial with it.

Any one that was going to go commercial with it  would reverse engineer the same way I would.

We have seen it with the Chines over and over.

I remember when you received the schematic with any and all Electronics products.

I'm not going to argue ethics with you. Some have them, some don't.

I do.

Hey Gramps43

I put you to download a zip file on the detector Tesoro Lobo, you will find everything I could get on it. There is also the PCB drawing (. Lay) I've done with the software SPRINT LAYOUT well as the front and rear plates (. Fpl) draw with the software FrontDesigner30. I leave you checked it , because I built this detector, but it seems that some component values are false. Good luck to you
