Hi thats over 1000 micro henry
I have never had that big a variation in loosely wound on former
to tightly bound and glued etc .

ok thanks, so its being measured in its final shape of a D.

My thought was maybe you were FIRST winding a O
and measuring the inductance before bending to a D,
so can that thought,
back to the drawing board.

Hi 6666

Here are some photos of the winder and the former. Note that with the cap in parallel to the coil I can tune it to just about 6mH. What I now need to do is see how this will affect the detector, just haven't had the time yet.

I was just wondering what would we do without it? but as far as the coils are concerned I think that I will revert to the older method of making them.
