To water problems= Allright many DECADES ago i raced motorcycles, cross country/enduro type, all kinds of water/rivers and such, WELL we used a spray, I believe it was called LPS, 1- I may be wrong about that, anyway, we would spray our electrical componenents-magneto and all with this, and the engine would even run under water (until water got into the carburetor), this stuff seemed to be about like WD40, kinda oily, but worked great, could something like this be applied to the electronics of a detector to avoid water problems, -rain/dropping in river/lake/ocean- just happened to remember this thing we did and thought bout the times I get caught out in the rain, Would something like this work??  or create more problems?? Detecting

Hello Bugar . Your best option is a waterproof plastic case/housing for the circuit board . Two other options , if you do a little research you will find these two choices are not simple
1. non-conductive epoxy resin , and you will not be able make an easy repair later on if your detector breaks down
2. parylene coating , which requires a vacume chamber to apply...............Plastic housings with o-ring type seals are your best bet...................Regards.........Eugene
