Fisher 1266-X

I just purchased a Fisher 1266-x knowing it needs some work.  It powers up but can't seem to get much of any sound from it.  I thought it may be the speaker, but that wasn't it.  Wondering now if it is the on/off/volume switch.    All of the wires appear to be connected solid to everything.  Any advice?
