Old detector schematic

Hello sascho-bg . Welcome to Thunting.com Forum . Thank-you for posting these very old schematics . Sometimes complete information can not be found anymore as the years go by . Is the Metadec name related to Cscope ? Because I saw a Metadec LTD made in India ? The Fisher Gemini II schematic is great for those who still own one . The frequency of Gemini II must be somewhere from 80 to 100 Khz or more but I could never find any coil data posted anywhere . If someone could find out the coil inductances for the Transmit and the recieve circuit , it would be easy to build but you would have to find a replacement for IC 3401 which is discontinued . I think the coils are probably built around the case . The Deluxe Earth challenger is very old machine also , did it come from an old electronic magazine project like from Popular Electronics or was it manufactured ? This brings up old memories and a few questions . Any other comments are welcome here ..................Best Regards.........Eugene

   " Metadec" scheme is present. I have no information on the model. Other schemes from U.S. magazine.

homefire;

Make an educated guess... the one side is resonant at the search frequency, how many ever turns that takes and the input winding would use about 1/4 of those turns. If you know the mu of the core, you can calculate turns for resonance... add a few extra, which can come off if you need to.

Obviously the loop has low impedance, because it is not an LC resonant circuit.

Just my observations. Why would you want to build one of these, anyway??

Sniveling can be good.... the squeeky wheel gets the grease! Ha.

I would be interested in any documentation, with them, in the way of an explanation(s) on how they were figured to work, or the designers explanation of his technology.

Hello Everyone . The schematics posted above are only good for someone who has one of those machines needing repair , not for building , plus a few of the IC'S are now discontinued anyway .  If I were to decide to build a two-box it would be the Whites TM808 not the antique Gemini II . The  Whites design is much more frequency stable ........We have much better and newer schematics posted on this forum already . With more "MD Project" goodies to be posted later . If it is the same Sascho-bg that I know . He has not even started to post his Good schematics yet . He has designed some great metal Detectors over the years . So I am looking forward to seeing more of his posts here on this forum .......................Regards........Eugene
