Hello do you know of any one or any body that has a Red Baron VLF/SPD with the two battery holders 12 volts each.In schematic form or willing to take a look  or make some photo pics ,of the points where the power points from the batteries join to originally.Since I have one that somebody replaced the battery holders but wire them wrong and connected both power packs to the same spot ,that is at the volume control on and off switch. And that's not the place since you need to power from A-the audio and B-the circuit board giving 12 volts each.Have an idea where they should be connected, but want to make sure by looking at somebody that has the R.B with the battery packs .I think the First Red Baron then the R.B 3-THE R.B-5 and the R.B7 all have the same two 12 volts power packs.Viewing where they get connected would be great. Thanks to any one that is willing to undo the control box having a look or take pics o tell me if they know or have any diagrams of the components.   Hello

I split this from the coil topic so it could get the attention you need to repair your machine. Also, it is customary to start in the New User section and introduce yourself. You'll get all the help you need but we are a social group and like to get to know new members.

Can you take a good close up of the current hookup and the PC board overall and post it here? Someone may recognize the proper wiring and clue you in.

Hello Golddigger 1950,

My Bounty Hunter Red Barron VLF/SPD has 2 12volt batteries made up of 2 8cell aa carriers.

The +ve of one and -ve of the other are joined together and connect to the LHS PCB earth common.  The -ve and +ve from the Battery packs then connect to the on/off switch (Volume control), the switch is a 2 pole switch so that it can control both batteries.

Hoping this helps.

Kind regards
OldHat

Sent him  what he needed about three weeks ago.

Think he  is still working on it.

I talked to him about this on the GeoTech forum.

Did you happen to buy that from the Cash Converters on Wanneroo Road here in Perth? I saw one just like it with the wire harness in a big mess.

Go Up Go Down

:)Sorry guys at the time I joined a few forums and unless I get a remainder I lost track
I have to update my post,as Homefire is saying the ending was put at Geo-Tech forum
Thanks to him and the schematics the Red Baron 7 is back alive working again
after a lot of patience and a few components.Since then I have fixed another R.B 7 with the three boards
But this one was a lot quicker to find the fault one transistor and one main I.C-MC1496P
Compared to the first one First-No power wires Two-volume pot no resistance Three-one pole on the on and off no good
Four-Two I.C's a LM358P and one MC1496P and Last-the hardest to find a tiny trim pot with a leg broken(NIGHTMARE)
So to all the followers this post has come to a happy ending
Homefire sorry about delay but I have not forgotten what I said to you Detecting
