Hello, has anyone seen any modifications for a Whites Goldmaster V/sat ?
I have seen one that was adding and audio boast with an op amp circuit, but wondered if there were any that were good mods for the main circuit.
Thanks
Deaver

Hello Deaver . Welcome to the Thunting Forum . I will check if there are any mods for the Goldmaster V/SAT. Your 2nd question A better search coil for gold depends on what Metal detector and search coil you are using right now , let us know and we will search "If there is search-coil "upgrade"...................Thanks.............Eugene52

I found a trail in the mountains where there was black sand coming out of the ground and found a flat small nugget that had just washed out in the rain several years ago..Very unusual to find it laying in an old rut that was going down hill..it was about the size in diameter of a pencil eraser and flat !!

I have the orginal eliptical search coil that came with the Whites Goldmaster v/Sat Eugene. It is good for shallow depth and not good for anything deeper then six inches. That has come with my detecting using the detector and most of the gold around here is deeper then that in depth.
Thanks
Deaver

You can increase depth 20% on "medium size nuggets only" , using this 7.5 x 13.5 inch Whites Sierra Gold max . I am now searching for mods , if they have been done like manual ground balance , etc................Regards.........Eugene52

Thanks Eugene, I will inquire with Whites on that search coil and that will perhaps give me the depth that I am needing. I know that the Mine Labs go deeper, but they use a differnet frequency and a much larger coil as well. I just do not have the money to buy a new Mine Labs and not sure I could handle it for very long with its weight.
Thanks
Deaver

Hello

The same circuit somewhat altered appeared in the December 1980 mag. With some mistakes corrected in later issues of ETI.

If you decide to build the Altek "Shadow 300" . Use the Micronta/Radio Shack 630-3003 8 inch search-coil that I have pictured here . It will be perfect for testing . I am searching for a better coil as a permanent solution...............................Eugene52

This is very interesting Eugene, do you have the schematics for it here on line ?  Did you build it for a specific purpose, like coins or gold ? If you do not mind me asking what frequency are you using with it ?
Thanks
Deaver
