Thank You Eugene.I'll try this  Wink
But what about Garret coil?

Hello . The Garrett Crossfire search coils run at different frequencies . Garrett Metal Detectors are at 6.5 , 7.2 and 15 khz , depending on the model . I have to look for the crossfire coil specs , but from what I remember the dc resistances are different than Tesoro search coils . You should measure your Garrett coil resistance before you do anything , just to be safe ..................Regards.....................Eugene

Hello ropke , you should have only +5 volts out of 2931a or use a 78LO5 regulator chip instead. You should have at least a negative 4.7 volts at emitter of T3 . This negative supply voltage is used for op amp differential voltage. Check IC4 pin 7 and if it is connected to negative voltage rail and not ground. Gary built the two board and it worked fine  . What schematic did you use ?.................Regards.................Eugene

Hello Eugene.I changed 2931a to 78l05.nothing changed. The voltage is the same.+7v ; -7v . the pin of IC7 was connected to the ground. You said that this pin must be connected to -5,but schematic and pcb is Garry's split design.sometimes when I turn power on I can hear sounds, sometimes not.maybe some IC isn't working correctly?
P.S. 78l05 is heating.

Hello ropke . You have a short somewhere and need to check all your capacitors . Especially the electrolytics . Make sure you have all polarities correct [+,-] , even on diodes . You are drawing to much current if your regulator is getting hot ...... Are you using a pre-made Bandido pcb circuit board or a test breadboard ? Your Bandido will not work until you find the shorted component.................Regards......Eugene

Hello Eugene. That's why I ask for people who repeated this Garrys project.I talk to Garry, but now hi has problems with his health and won't talk much.maybe is there a short, maybe capacitors...that's why I need a man to ask about parts.I used this pcb(will attach).now i'm going to check all board.
P.S. here in second pic as You see the pin 7 of IC4 going to ground. You said that it must go to -5.Why Garry did so?
Thank You regards........

Hello , It is not your circuit board . Pin 7 is going to -5 rail . Anyway you need to find your shorted component . Measure all resistances with your ohm meter and you will find the problem ......Regards........Eugene
