Has anyone invented an underwater probe yet?

SVBerry:
Has anyone invented a deep water probe yet? One that can go down to 100 feet or better. If not how do we get action to make a deep water probe? [idea]

The best way for both underwater and land scanning is via satellite...

I do have a friend and he uses this detector given by a Japanese and it really catches the radiation from the stuff underwater but the problem is the radiation is not direct and may result to inadequate distance. However, here is this British companion of one of our friends and they use GPS and take the location and let the scanning be done via satellite and it is efficient and effective.

I have this friend of mine and he is of Japanese descendant, he has a detector Japan made and it takes radiation above water but the problem is that it fluctuates. Recently, we have this British companion and he uses scanning via satellite and all you need is the GPS of the site. They do this and it is effective.

I am just talking about a metal detecting probe. One that would save you from silting up the water trying to find a target. So you could actually see to continue digging.

I don't know of any off hand.    You could house most any probe in a water tight container and make it work.

There is a kit for a PI detector here which I have successfully modified to be used as a pinpointing probe by nothing more than using a 330uh RF coil wired with 3" of coaxial cable as the unit's coil. It will easily fit into a short length of clear Acrylic plastic thick walled tubing that can be made waterproof.

Tune it before you seal it up and mount a waterproof push button switch to turn it on momentarily and you have a winner. Underwater, a high frequency beep can be heard for miles so keep the volume down or experiment with using an LED instead of sound.

Posted on: June 13, 2011, 10:30:32 PMI should change that to say around 5" of coax because the coil comes off the side and the 3" is how far below the main board the coil is mounted. I also threaded the tubing to accept a drainage sealing cap from a hardware store allowing me to charge the internal LiPo battery now and again and maintain watertight integrity. Battery life is more than 12 hours when operated using the push button rather than leaving it on constantly. More than a day's worth of use. I have never managed to discharge it. I keep it topped off.
