Come on folks. Click on the voting tab. It's FREE! Completely anonymous.
With 18,301 members, you would think we would have at least 10% voting not less than 1% (.07%). More people turn out to vote for the dogcatcher than do here. I guess people just join to say they belong to something but never participate. I would bet that if they had to pay to join we would have  better participation. Sorry about riding on a high horse, but voting in America is not only a privilege, but a right given to us by our forefathers who gave their lives so that we could, plus all of the soldiers who have given their lives to protect that right. Is this how we thank them?
I will shut up now, and apologize if I sounded up righteous. But PLEASE vote. Our fellow detectorists need your support.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Well, voting time came and went. We had a tally of 12 yeahs, and 1 nay. I did not send the results to the club we should have supported, because of the small turnout results.

Yeah, I wouldn't send it in either, most of the members here are not Treasure hunters, so they have little concept of how True Detectorist care about their hobby,

I won't say what I think of them, So I will just leave it there,

To all those who did stand up and Vote, Thank You for being there when you were needed, TOP MEN

Yes, thank you everyone that participated and those that had something to say in a post. It shows that you like your hobby and and this forum and are not afraid to voice your opinion. That is a part of what freedom is all about.

Yes, I am curious too.

Just sent an email to the club president. I will let everyone know what he has to say in a post soon as I get it.

UPDATE: Good News. Here read it yourself.  Clapp

(Pasted from my email)

Hi Carl and thanks for the email. We have met with the park board and
have come to an agreement. We are just getting the rules printed up and
posted at the park. As soon as I get a copy of the rules, I will be
posting them on our face book page and our web site. They are requiring
proper digging techniques, pickup the trash, do not cause any damage or
the person will be charged with criminal damage. It is pretty much us
common sense if you plan to hunt on any parks in the City of Chippewa.
Next to the city's sign will be our club poster for people to contact to
learn proper digging techniques. Our club will be monitoring what is
happening so we will be able to hunt for years to come.

Kenny Briggs.

All's well that ends well.

Right on RR.  Great

When I am in the parks, if I see a park worker or ranger, I always go over to them offer a handshake, tell them who I am, say hello, and tell them what I am doing. It works wonders. My dad always said "It is easier to catch flies with honey than vinegar." So far I have detected in over 25 local parks and not one bad incident.
