Hello - I am looking for a good 5 inch coil for a Minelab Musketeer. Also interested in larger coils for same model.

Hi ghostrider you picture don't do you justice you look better in the flesh  Grin Grin
There is an 8" coil for that, but the 15" makes that machine a bad weapon It was my first real detector and if it had a meter it would be the best machine they ever made, I can't say enough good about it, it's a killer, any way try to get coiltek coils for it because the use to make the coils for minelab and they are the only people who have the correct tune up specs on all of minelabs machines.
you may read of others doing this or that but they are not uniformly built so any thing from the eastern block would not be a perfect match, and another thing is i bought 8 coils 3 where coiltek and they whooop the others hands down , also i had 1 minelab 8" coil
that was great too, but as for the butterfly coils and their round ones i surgest you stay away from them

good luck j

LOL - I've really come to love my Muskie and already have a 14 inch coil and an 8 inch coil. Would love to get the 5 inch and a 10 inch to round out the collection. You are dead right - this thing is a bad @ss beastie and I'll never part with it. Just trying to round out collection and get spares of everything to cover me for the future. I'll even consider buying non-working muskies for spares and such. Thanks for reply - you hit it right on the head - best machine Minelab ever made. Did not realize Coiltek were the folks who did the builds for Minelab. Will pop them an email and see if they have any of the 5 inch coils left or if I can get specs to build my own...

Thanks a lot and you made a new friend here ;>) Nope - that isn't how I look by the way but it is bad @ss pic isn't it?

Jon

HI Jon, coiltek stoped making coils for minelab a few years ago ever since minelab started making them in house but coiltek still make coils to fit minelabs just the same, ok,

Hi J,

Thanks my friend - checked your profile - From Australia and living in U.K.  and like 4x4s and all the same stuff I do - Hell... we could be brothers ;>) I've got a Ford F-150 4x4 extended cab- 1996 - It's beat up and a *real* truck, not a showpiece - meaning I actually use it in the bush ;>)

As far  as the coil goes - yeah - it'll be a tough one to find on the 5 inch, but I'm patient - good things come from that as my life experience has shown ;>)

Like 'Fer Sure as we say here in California, land of Smogberries.

Jon

I hear ya I've owned 5 F series trucks and i've striped em and sand blasted em and rebuilt them from the ground up into show trucks
but they still had to work for a living
