I keep seeing the pro's use this foot scoop at the beach, and I have to say I really want one.  But the cost on line is a little out of my league.  I've also looked into making one, but think it may not hold up.  If anyone has one they want to sell, or know of a site where I could find one under $50.00, I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

SharenH

I have a stainless steel bill scoop with a long handle that i use my foot to dig with. Its sturdy and wont bend like the cheap ones. So in the long run you get what you pay for. You may find a used one on E-Bay just look around....Good luck.....DW

Hi Sharon........Did you ever find a sand scoop? I you haven't, check some of the pawn shops. They often have detectors and may even have some scoops. You can always negotiate with them. If that doesn't work, try a local welding shop, they could make one for you if you can give them a drawing or make one out of cardboard or something similiar as a pattern for them to go buy. I've made them out of old valve covers off of engines etc.

Have a peaceful evening.......John in Va..

No I haven't gotten one yet, I have looked into making one. I  have looked at the materials to build one at Lowe's, but haven't bought them yet.  I keep hoping to find one on Craig's list.  I have looked at the local pawn shops.  No one here has them or even metal detectors...  I will keep searching.  Thank you for the idea's...

More than one meet your price criterion. Order two for when hubby gets his detector.
