Anyone have a couple rolls of unsearched wheat pennies they have for sale at a reasonable price? I'm trying to fill up one of the coin/folders for my 8-yr old daughter that's taken a liking to the hobby. I only have about 3-4 pennies in the folder right now, and would like to fill up most of it if possible.
I've tried going to the bank for circulated rolls, but after about $5.00 of pennies, I've given up trying to look for more.
Thanks
 Smiley

Good luck with that. With all the interest over the last 50 years, the last of the wheat cents has probably been cataloged. There is the occasional auction on eBay where the seller has bags of previously ungraded wheat cents for sale by the pound. Key dates won't be there but you might be able to upgrade a coin or two. You can also use

to "snip" a bid at the last second for a coin on auction. It works like a charm. I win a lot of auctions by that automated last second bidding.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Follow up on this - I got 3 rolls I bought from a guy on eBay.. and, it comes with mixed results.. Good news was yes, I did get several to put into my album folder, bad news was there were LOTS of duplicates. Not a single war (steel) penny was in the stack either. The oldest one was 1941 too. Of the indian head pennies that I did get in there, they were junk and could barely read the dates on them.
Sad
So, I guess lesson learned I probably won't get them there anymore. Even though the listing says 'unresearched' I'm still guessing that he went though them.

I have always felt that the seller had an old rolling machine and tubes to make up the rolls. There are just to many on ebay and other sites with an Indian head on one end but when you open the roll they all from the 40's no key dates no steel's just junk.
