Hey guys,
Ive got a Garrett Master Hunter CX model 119901 with the yellow analog meter and the power panel broken off.
If anyone has one from a junk detector that theyd part with just please let me know.
Garrett doesnt have parts for these anymore and ill never part with this detector....so I need to find parts.
The full power plate with the meter and ribbon cable is what i need.
Its the yellow analog meter.
If anyone can help me PM me please.
Thanks

If the machine still works but the meter is broken, you can buy almost any ammeter with the same dimensions and modify it to replace yours. Look on the back and see, embossed in the plastic, a part number. Look for that and you'll probably find a replacement. Now, about the faceplate - the yellow meter. Very carefully (like a brain surgeon), remove the yellow plate by removing the screws - usually 2 of them. Extract the plate delicately. Not to save the broken meter but as practice. You'll need it when you remove the faceplate from the new meter and put this one in its place.

Good luck. Steady hands. Brave heart!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

That panel has more than just a power switch on it. You may be in for a big repair job.

Can we have a Photo of what you have to work with?

Maybe you can use another switch set up and meter?

here it is...ive got the ribbon cable out of it right at the moment...it slides into the slot where the meter and power panel are supposed to go and plugs into main board.
as you can see i have 2 wires ran out the side that i tip together and it turns the power on.....theres another wire connected to the negative battery terminal on the main board that i tip one of the power wires to in order to turn it off.
the discriminate still works fine on the side and when i traced the circuits out i figured out which was power on.....but that still doesnt put it back to factory.
maybe someone will turn up with a junk one with a good meter and power face plate.
i could wire up toggle switches and such....but that doesnt help me on the pinpoint and depth....those have to be held down continuous to work correctly.....and id really hate to have like 5 seperate switches flipping constantly just to see if its silver...the depth...the pinpoint....the sensitivity

dont get me wrong...i still use it and have gotten pretty good with the tones of the different metals and coins.
just figured it would be nice to have it back original.
also ive got a good gta350 and just bought a new bh time ranger...havent tried it out yet.
spent a small fortune on it and have heard good and bad reviews about it....i think more bad than good.
thinking i should have invested that money in another good master hunter

After you learn the Toons you will be a better hunter.

People that depend on TID numbers will alway loose out in the long run.
