I am looking for an old White's TR Surfmaster, best guess from the early 80's, I don't have a model number
(may be that Surfmaster was it) however I do have a picture from a manual, see below:

{alt}

Anyone having one for sale please let me know (or even if you see one for sale someplace)

Thanks
Bill

Thanks for the reply, several reasons :

I had one before back in the 80's so I know what to expect
I think if I remember correctly that one I bought new for under $200.
I saw an old add on ebay (2013) for one for $75.00
I can not justify spending $800-$1000 on a current one it would just not get used enough, where I am, Atlantic Canada summer is about mid June to mid September so best case it would get used 12 times (once a week), yesterday morning at 7:30am it was 0C, its still a month away before you would even think of getting in the water, I only have a few places I search in the water and they are all fresh water, I know I found a lot of rings with the last one, for my application it worked fine for me. I don't need all the new "bells & Whistles" or the expense of a new one.

Thanks
Bill

Thank you, I will keep looking for others, this one does not look submersible, the old whites was completely waterproof I have a Fisher F4 I can and do use on the beach or even in a foot of water but I consider it to risky to use in 4 feet of water even if I mount the box high up. I use to know a guy very tall 6.4 or 6.5 and he would strap his coinmaster 6000 around his neck, I'm not that tall.

I don't mind 2-300 CDN for a good working waterproof, I just can't justify the high prices they seem to get today, for example a Fisher 1280x used I saw one for 675.00 CDN just way more then the use would justify

Thanks Again
Bill

I have seen these ones (also called Gold Digger, Cobra Beach Magnet and likely a dozen other names) they are a Fisher 1280x knock off from China, there are mixed reviews 50/50 I have seen them as low as $160.00 US, about $200-$250 Canadian by the time you add shipping and duties etc. They are in the ball park price wise just not sure of quality........

All the Best
Bill
