Hello All

I am a collector and military historian looking for War of 1812 buttons, plates, artifacts etc.  I am located in Southern Ontario.  I am especially looking for Canadian Militia items and British units that served in Upper Canada.  I will pay good prices for quality items.  I also have material to trade if there is any interest.

Welcome aboard from Australia!

If you have a metal detector, you came to the right place. If you are just buying, try eBay because most folks here don't find them to sell them. A few do, but you really would be better off looking elsewhere.

It's all about that magical moment of discovery when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I do have a detector and am learning the ropes to find more items for my collection.  But it never hurts to ask right.  I pay $25- $400 for buttons and for plates $300 - $5000 depending on the regiment.

Best Regards
JM

We have some very active 1812 hunters here on both sides of the border. You're in good company.

I believe I had seen an 1812 York militia button on ebay not to long ago. It was selling for $75. And i dont think anyone bought it. So be aware if it goes back on ebay.
Cheers
Stuart
