Spectrum hasn't been made since 92 or so and is heavy so set your sights for an XLT....E-series if you can find one as latest of that series.

Bit of a learning period and know of approx. 10 books been written on the XLT so good luck in your search.

Hello Adrian See .

Do not forget to check Craigslist close to where you live !!!

Some good Metal Detector deals / better prices than ebay . Local pick-up is the usual procedure , most of the sellers do not like to ship .

Check the findmall.com site, you may find one there. I have an XLT its a great machine, lots of learning but it pays off once you know what its telling you. Good Luck....DW

:)Good morning Dawnwebster and everyone else, your correct the learning curve with any new detector is rough at first but when you stumble on a good target and find the sweet spot on the coil the learning part comes fast! Also being patient and going out often rather than putting it in the closet and giving up on it.I see so many people that think a detector is the get rich quick machine! bidding on them only to see them selling them again two or three weeks later. Thanks for the reply!happy hunting to all!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Adrian
I have a spectrum here in Australia in excellent condition with a travel case to go with it, if you have had no luck please let me know. I have someone else interested but he is taking a long time to make his mind up, perhaps I need to make it up for him. I am looking at at least $600 US I have no idea what the shipping cost would be but I can find out regards. It has a Manual  in good condition.  Bryan

Thank you for your reply but at this time I cannot afford the detector and if you have a buyer at 600 US dollars congrats they generally sell from 200-350.00 dollars on ebay for an spectrum XLT or XLT pro now if it was a DFX the price is rite.I wish I could afford your machine though and thanks again for your reply Adrian
