I am looking to buy an 11" dd coil for my F75 the coil doesn't have to be new but does need to be in very good condition. If you have any other coils for the F75 that you want to sell send me a pm with a price and a discription of the coil.

Libear, About the F75DD coil. It isn't waterproof as the manual says. Mine shorted out and I had to dry it out. The company used a silicone adhesive to seal the connection chamber with and the adhesive did not stick. See Photo, After I dried it out it works but this is a reminder that its a good idea to smear all joints in your coil joints and coil connection with silicon grease before you go in the water. I used to do that but got sloppy today.

By the way I have a 5" coil and it is the best.  gambol

Put it on the dashboard of your car and let God dry it out for you.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Go Up Go Down

Libear, What I did was to use a pocket knife to pry the cover off the coil connection chamber on the back of the coil. I then took a small paint brush and carefully washed the little circuit board and the tuning resistor with deionized water to remove all the salt. Fortunately for me the salt did not get on the back side of the connection circuit board or I would have been in trouble because it is not accessable. after 3 or 4 washings I dried it with a heat gun and glued the cover back on with a silicon gasket maker I got from the auto parts store. When the glue dried I smeared it and the cable connection to the coil with silicon o-ring lubricant I got from the swimming pool store. I used silicone lubricant to protect vulnurable cable joints on equipment when I worked for a manufacture that pressure washed their environmentally protected equipment. Without it the pressure washer would force water into the connections. The older the equipment gets the worse the problem because the rubber seals shrink. Elsewhere I talk about the symptoms of a shorted coil. See Detecting in South Africa. I hope this helps, gambol
