That's Louis XVI on the front, so it is French.    The date on it puts it early in the French revolution  In fact I've found a link for it while writing this

I checked out the link and there was a 1790  French Jeton? almost identical. some differences on the obverse,  I guess my next question is is mine 1790 as well? and or could it be a fake. if I am right these louisxvi were from1774-1792.

By the way, 1790 is the year that he accepted the constitution which established the "constitutional monarchy".  He was executed January 21, 1793.   I'm thinking this was minted the second half of 1790 after he accepted the constitution.
