Hello, my son and I are "newbies" to metal detecting and have found 3 objects on our land that is newly developed.
Any ideas on what these may be?
Thank you in advance for your help...

Hey carlee02; Welcome to the forum.
The top one is an old surveyors stake, or foundation stake. A string would be threaded through the hole and a knot tied in it and strung to another one. Continue out from the flat side, and you should find another one. No clue on the middle, but I've seen the bottom one somewhere, only a little thicker, (about a quarter inch, and about 3" wide), but can't place it.
Hope this helps.

It's a rock on the ground, it's a specimen when you take it home.

The second one is a stake used to retain parimeters around a flower garden. Huh?
The third one looks to be part of a thermostat most likely from an automobile.

Could be wrong about the third one it looks to be rusted steel. Detecting

the middle one looks like a keeper wedge for a tractor inplement.
i have a lot of them, there are two arms comming out of the back of the tractor the backhoe, scraper etc. fits on the arms and you tap a wedge into a slot to keep the attachment on the tractor.
did you find it near a farm, field?

is there a hole in the middle of the round one?(rusted over) i have a couple about that size made of stamped tin used for decoration on victorian houses. like at the top corners of door frames and tops of window frames.

neat stuff Smiley
