I found this, it looks like a piece of a pipe wrench the adjusting part, but the more I look at it and cleaned it up, I notices it was hammered flat with folded still, the grooves I don't have a clue from NC, so much history around this county ,,,, randolph , if anyone one has any idea I would be thankful

yeah thats what I thought at first, but thinking the way it was made may pre-date that style of wrench

Charles Moncky invented the monkey wrench around 1858, so its possible that blacksmiths hand forged many of the early ones.
