Go Up Go Down

Last year I became a member of a North Wales metal detecting club and we tend to get out for club digs once a month. On Sunday January 6th we spent most of the day on a Welsh sheep farm. The EuroAce kept giving me good signals for an untold number of pieces of scrap, and by the end of the day I was getting a little pissed with the whole site. Returning to the car, I decided to give the detector a few more swings ang got superb bell tone from the detector and started to cut turf and chase what was hiding beneath it.

Finishing up on hands and knees, Garrett ProPointer in hand, I was starting ti think that I was chasing ghost signals. Eventually I recovered this little shiny metal critter. Although it looks to be a tiny bit of modern scrap; I would be interested to know what the heck it is! My fellow detectorist said it was a greas nipple! My wife said she thought it could be oil drip feeder nozle! Me.............I don't know.

What you have there is a Broken Hypodermic Needle.

Probably used on the sheep?

Well fancy that. Thank you for the swift id; I would never have guessed. I always look away when someone sticks one of those in me.  Maybe the sheep struggled.   Shocked

Hmmm, maybe not so big; the scale is in mm, not inches. I should have noted that on the scale.   Sad

Thought that I was doing well and had it all well illustrated. As my old teacher used to say............."must do better".   Teach

Homefire is a real wizard; and swift with it. Many thanks Homie.  Smiley

I spose the numbers refer to the size and gauge of the needle. Well, I learn something new every day.
