why is it most of tribal folks is so concern of fertility? I recalled now, besides this relic back in the mountains, I also saw a stone resembling a phallic symbol??

thats how they did it. for important aspects in their life they had different ways of praying to gods or spirits or what have you to help them out. fertility being a very important part of any society.

Fertility applies to live stock and crops, as well as people; no crops - no food for people and animals - no animals - no people, then. Simple math: 1 and 2 depend on 3... otherwise 0!
