Go Up Go Down

Hi.

I've found this a few hundred meters from a small lake, in Sweden. Not know by me as any historical place or something.
I laid around 12 - 15 cm deep in the forest.
Feels and looks like lead, and it's really heavy.
The hole in it looks molded/casted.
It's around 100 mm.

Any idea how to clean it ?

From what I've been told, if it's lead the white that you can see on it is poison.  You could try some vinegar to get the oxidation off it.

It looks more like a piece of molten lead that was spilt while someone was casting something or something that was caught in a fire

I'm inclined to agree with that.  Embarrassed
Can not find anything to indicate otherwise.

Well I have found alot of pieces just like that here in the UK and people in the EU countries appear to have used it quite a lot over the Centuries so there is no real way of dating it it could be 50 years old or it might be 500 years old you just don't know,

Come to think of it I also found things like that in South Africa. I found lead and aluminium that was melted in grass fires so could very well be that this is the same.

I think the shape is strange because it takes the shape of the ground where it was spilt
