so went out and picked this hand hammered two peice big iron chan and hook thingy. my guess is for hangin critters for slaughter but i have no clue definitly hand forged ,most likely repainted?at some time so, need to figure it out as need to be able to list it and sell on me seller site and turn it into better treasure any ideas?

I wonder is it's not to put up a fence, you call it a wire puller but it looks like there's a part missing from it.

could be ,  will google that . I found a photo of just the chain called a "stay chain" for wrapping around wagon wheels so they don't roll away. the search goes on.

possible, I have an old iron scale and they are a bit different although I wont rule this idea out yet either

In short the hand brake LOL I like the scale idea from SKBbird. I was wondering why would you want to have two different types of hooks though, a bit like one needs to not come off and the other movable like within chain links.

  Yea, Load Lock for a Chain.   Used to hold fast Logs, Cargo and what not.

Not unknown - its a load binder. Most truckers (and many ranchers & farmers) have used them.  It's a helping hand to ratcheting down a load.  Cool!
