I found this in dredge spoils in Bay St. Louis.  It's a little smaller than a  dime.  It appears to be made of brass and has the back/loop missing.   I was trying for maximum magnification so depth of field was shallow. If necessary I can attempt another photo. I dont do much macro, up to now, mostly wildlife but i can try to get a better image.

It looks to me like a U.S. military button some kind.  The eagle with the U.S. shield on its breast and the olive branches (indicating peace) in its left foot and the arrows in its right foot.
