Go Up Go Down

Found this at an old home site this week. It's stamped so I would suspect that it is 21st century but no clue what it is or any approximate age.
Description: On each side of the Eagle are the letters U and S. There is a cross in the middle of the eagle's chest and what appears to be 2 pine trees at the bottom. The worn area below the cross's center beam shows MER on the 1st line and MA on the 2nd line, the rest of the letters are worn off. One the back it is clearly stamped and on the top folded tabs it reads "HICKOK MADE IN USA" and on the bottom tab it reads "HICKOK PLATE".

Thanks for your help.
Good luck and Happy Hunting

I wonder if it is an old mail carriers badge? I am going to try to google something on it.

Nope--NOT US Mail.  It is a US Merchant Marine insignia.  (noticed the anchor under the eagle along with ClayDigger's mention of MER).  Can't tell you more yet, but I just started looking......probably WWII era

Homefire. Nice find. Your's is the pin, mine is a buckle, but probably the same pin that was fabricated onto a buckle.
Thanks again.

Same design but not the same I think.    Two different companies for sure.
