I think you're right. But I've never seen one so thin. That's what threw me.

I'm with homefire on this one.....used to be real common back when drafting was done on paper instead of on a computer.  (d*mn that makes me feel old).   The lead could come in several different thicknesses.   I always liked the real thin lead for writing and general purpose (tiny handwriting)

It's a stylus for a PDA.  A PDA, also known as a personal digital assistant or personal data assistant, is like a mini, handheld computer and the stylus is used to enter data into it or "tapping" in commands.

Yea I got to go with a drafters pencil also. Used to have a few of them back in the day when I was getting my degree. But it's always so hard to tell when you don't have the item in hand.

Hey frazdad, tell 'em its all plastic and doesn't make a mark like a pencil or other writing/drawing device would.  Its a stylus; the top part unscrews to reveal a pointy like thing used to reset the pda when it locks up or crashes and the bottom part unscrews so that you can replace it when it wears out.  I own two PDA's and both have the same type of stylus, trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

since I'm from the day of the mechanical pencil and not the PDA I'm willing to take rivercty's word for it.
